Story is where Anime Zero teaches its combat kit stage by stage. Enemy density matches what a fresh loadout can handle, clears fund your first summons, and the difficulty curve doubles as a gear check before the other modes are worth your time.

Anything works in early Story — this is the mode where you learn a weapon's three skills, dodge timing and block cadence. Bring your strongest single weapon; the second slot matters less here than in boss content.

Community consensus: clear Story comfortably before committing time to Defend or Infinite. Story clears are also the practical Coin income that pays the 25,000-Coin second weapon slot early on.
